We have a duty to ensure all children are safe. In school we do this by ensuring that everyone who comes into the building is suitable for working with children. We also work hard to minimise risk in the grounds and building.
If we have concerns about the safety of any child we follow the school’s Safeguarding policy, which includes Child Protection. This can be accessed via this website and at the main school office. The policy outlines how any safeguarding issues are followed up and reported when we think a child may be at risk of significant harm, including at home.
All concerns are recorded, dated and signed and handed to the Designated Child Protection Officer (DCPO). The DCPO is Miss Claire Hodgson ( Acting Head Teacher). The Deputy DCPO's are Mrs Katrina Turvey and Miss Kirstie Phillips (Assistant Headteachers).
The DCPO will follow protocols and procedures when a concern is raised or a disclosure made. Parents are contacted, only if it is definitely safe to do so, and the relevant agencies contacted, including Health, Police and Social Care as appropriate.
ANYONE may report a concern to Social Care. The number is: 0300 123 1620
